Searcher, If you are indeed a "searcher" understand that to read the Bible, it must be read with the mind of Christ through the Holy Spirit. Talk to your pastor about whether or not the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God. It is written for all and all applies. One reference for that is Col. 1:16-17. Now with the mind of Christ, as you read this passage of scripture, does it offer YOU any hope? Does it speak to your heart that God will be with you through your trials and tribulations? That His presence is sufficient for YOUR peace (Ex. 33:14; Ps. 16:11b; Is. 43:3)? Counselor |

During this time of war for the "freedom of the Iraqi people," it is time we look at our own battles (which belong to the Lord) and struggles for freedom and also our fear of loosing. When you read verse 1 of this chapter, do you sense that God is assuring you of His promise that He'll be with you through this battle just like the one before it? That His presence in the situation will assure you of prevailing in His peace? That you are not alone? | ||||||
