1 | Could the Septuagint be more accurate? | Luke 3:36 | Appleseed | 136027
I would agree with this if the Bible in Gen 11:12 doesn't distinctly say that Arphaxad was 35years when he fathered Shelah. This is a continous sentence. So the incomplete list or gap between Arphaxad and Shelah is not there. Also these are 2 different people. What is possible is the Luke used the Septuagint to get the list (Jesus also used it or else Luke wouldn't of. Jesus taught Luke. Also strong evidence that the Septuagint was used in Jesus day). So it is right in the Septuagint but how the question is why the difference. I have extracted the same verses from Gen. 11:12-13 for the Bible and the Septuagint. Why the difference between the 2, not a small change pretty significant to me. 12 Arpachshad was 35 years old when he became the father of Shelah (B). 12 And Arphaxad lived a hundred and thirty-five years, and begot Cainan (S). 13 After he became the father of Shelah, Arpachshad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters (B). 13 And Arphaxad lived after he had begotten Cainan, four hundred years, and begot sons and daughters, and died. And Cainan lived a hundred and thirty years and begot Sala; and Canaan lived after he had begotten Sala, three hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters, and died. (S) |

2 | A humdinger can anyone answer this? | Luke 3:36 | Appleseed | 135956
In this verse it says the son of Cainan is son of Arphaxad but in 1 Chr 1:18 it is Shelah is son of Arphaxad and in Gen. 10:24 the same. Why is Cainan mentioned in Luke and not in 1 Chr or Gen 10, what am I missing?
3 | Could you provide some verses in NT | Heb 12:6 | Appleseed | 88591
Thanks for the quick response EdB Could you highlight scripture where God brings sickness on His Children, those who believe in Jesus (under the New Testament - seeing that Jesus was made a curse for us). Also considering that Jesus is the expressed image of God the Father. Jesus went around healing those who were oppressed by the devil. And when His disciples wanted to hurt those who didn't believe (order fire from heaven) Jesus rebuked them. |

When satan disobeyed God, satan and a third of his angels were thrown out of heaven in a flash (Rev. 12:4,7,9). Was this in the beginning or will this still come to pass? Jesus commented on satan’s fall by saying, “I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18). Thanks A |

Therefore why is it different to Hades? In other words, what is the difference between death and hades? Please back with scripture I appreciate your input, God Bless You |

8 | Could the books ref 2 books of the bible | Rev 20:12 | Appleseed | 17712
Hi Brother Nolan, A question - Surely God will use His Word to judge the works of the people. The books could also refer to the books that were Holy Spirit inspired, like the books in the bible (prophetic books, laws, etc.). Use those books to measure "according to their deeds". |

9 | Can we eat medium rare meat or not? | Acts 15:29 | Appleseed | 16914
Hi all, Can we eat medium rare meat (like a steak) or not? What does the Word say and what are your thoughts? Here is an extract Do not eat or drink anything that has the blood of an animal still in it, e.g. blood pudding (1 Sam. 14:34). Do not eat rare, medium rare or medium cooked meat because the meat still contains blood. “Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.” (Lev 19:26 NIV). The blood needs to be cooked so that no more life left in it, so rather eat well done meat. Try to eat kosher meat. “Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat… You shall not eat it, that it may go well with you and your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of the LORD” (Deut. 12:23,25). God told us directly and plainly “do not eat the blood”. Paul confirmed it in the New Testament, “Abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.” (Acts. 15:29). So do not be deceived by your own understanding. God said, “Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good” (Is. 55:2). |

11 | Why is Psalm ref. verse different? | Heb 10:5 | Appleseed | 12079
Hi all, This passage is refering to Psalm 40:6 where it says, "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required." So why then does Heb 10:5 say "BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME"? |
