1 | Is Crucifixion by Christians Biblical? | Bible general Archive 2 | prazn | 121993
Is it biblical/Christ-like/of God for Christians to tempt other Christians (particularly those who are not mature in Christ) with the intent of "breaking" or otherwise sanctifying them?
2 | What does the Bible say? | Bible general Archive 1 | prazn | 85453
Matt, will you please help us by providing the scriptural basis for your beliefs? Since God's word (i.e., the Bible) is THE truth, you will be able to confirm the truth of your opinions by citing the book(s), chapter(s) and verse(s) on which your beliefs are founded.
3 | Please answer my previous question | Bible general Archive 1 | prazn | 85499
What is the scriptural basis for the following statements that you wrote yesterday? 1)I beleive that all Christians have a Spirit. 2)But I beleive that it is the Spirit of God that dwells in us. 3)I do beleive that God will never leave us or forsake us, and 4)that he is the God of the living and not the dead. 5)But I dont call Christians that are SLEEPING dead either. 6)I simply say they have entered into the Lords rest. 7)I don't beleive in a consciouse state of being when a person is sleeping. 8)But that doesn't mean that they are dead. All believers need to know the Truth. So, since you wrote (and I agree) that "the words of Jesus" are truth, please share the Biblical source for your beliefs. God clearly tells us in Hosea 4:6: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children." I'm sure that you don't want anyone who reads and concurs with your beliefs to be rejected by our Lord. So, please follow-up with the scriptural justification for each statement that you made. Respectfully, prazn |

4 | Biblical support for your statements | Bible general Archive 1 | prazn | 85500
Will you please support your statements with Bible scripture? Otherwise, your statements are nothing more than your opinions, or second-hand knowledge from men who profess to be wise. "Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" 1 Cor 1:20 "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness" 2 Timothy 3:16 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life." John 6:36 Respectfully, prazn |

5 | Questions on the Divine Nature | NT general Archive 1 | prazn | 85720
Does a believer partake of the divine nature of Christ through the observance of religious tradition/ritual or through real/genuine relationship with the Master? Are we, who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, conformed to His image by what we ingest in the natural or what we ingest in the supernatural? Is communion with the Lord merely the ingestion of the natural elements of communion (i.e., bread and wine) or is it "heart to heart" communion with our Lord through the reading (ingestion) of His word (our spiritual bread) and by allowing Him to minister to us through His Holy Spirit (our spiritual wine)? |

6 | The Holy Spirit b4 Christ's ascension? | Num 11:25 | prazn | 85422
Throughout the New Testament, we are told that the Holy Spirit was given to mankind after Christ's resurrection and ascension. How was it possible for the Holy Spirit to descend upon and impregnate the virgin Mary (Luke 1:35); to fill John the Baptist (Luke 1:15), Simeon(Luke 2:25) and Anna the prophetess (Luke 2:36); and, to lead Jesus into the wilderness (Matthew 4:1)? Not to mention the Kings Saul and David, and the prophets Elijah and Elisha, among several other people referenced in the Old Testament (look up Holy Spirit or Spirit in the NASB word search).
7 | What yr was Jesus born? | Is 61:2 | prazn | 87904
I've read several reference books/commentaries which state that Jesus was actually born in 3 b.c. Does anyone know the actual year in which our Lord was born?
8 | Modern-day Pharisees and Scribes | Matt 23:9 | prazn | 85751
Any comments? Matt 23:1-28 23:1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying, "The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; 3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things, and do not do them. 4 "And they tie up heavy loads, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger. 5 "But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries, and lengthen the tassels of their garments. 6 "And they love the place of honor at banquets, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called by men, Rabbi. 8 "But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 "And do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 "And do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. 11 "But the greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 "And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. 13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14["Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you devour widows' houses, even while for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you shall receive greater condemnation.] 15 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel about on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. 16 "Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.' 17 "You fools and blind men; which is more important, the gold, or the temple that sanctified the gold? 18 "And, 'Whoever swears by the altar, that is nothing, but whoever swears by the offering upon it, he is obligated.' 19 "You blind men, which is more important, the offering or the altar that sanctifies the offering? 20 "Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears both by the altar and by everything on it. 21 "And he who swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells within it. 22 "And he who swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it. 23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. 24 "You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! 25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. 26 "You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also. 27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. 28 "Even so you too outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 9 | Why did Jesus condemn the Pharisees | Matt 23:13 | prazn | 87129
Why did Jesus condemn the scribes and Pharisees? Afterall, they were the religious experts of their day. They were learned men, who studied and knew the Law of Moses. What kept them from entering the Kingdom of God?
10 | Scriptural basis for your opinions | Luke 16:23 | prazn | 86106
Hi Tim, I'm sure that many people in this forum appreciate your opinions, however, for those of us who acknowledge the Word of God (i.e., the Holy Bible) as the only source of Truth, would you please cite the scriptures (book, chapter and verse) on which your opinions are founded? Thank you. |

11 | Why glorify satan? | 1 Cor 10:31 | prazn | 87546
Why so many questions about the identity of satan and the antichrist? Shouldn't we focus our attention on glorify Almighty God and maintaining intimate fellowship with Him? Especially considering our Lord's final words to us through the Holy Bible: Rev 22:12-13 "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." Whom are we glorifying when we spend so much of our time and thoughts on the evil one and his cohorts? prazn |

13 | What are "Sacraments" | 2 Pet 1:4 | prazn | 85748
Thank you for your response, Emmaus. I don't know what "sacraments" are. Please identify the scriptures in the Holy Bible that refer to "sacraments". Specifically, which scriptures define what "sacraments" are; and, which scriptures explain the benefits, to the partaker, of partaking in them? Forgive me, but I'm not familiar with the teachings of the Catholic church and do not ascribe to the teachings of man (for the wisdom of man is foolishness with God). The Lord Himself teaches me through His word (i.e., the Bible) and through the Holy Spirit which resides in everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and has received Him as their personal Lord and Savior. I dismiss any doctrine of man that is contrary to the word of God. Respectfully, Prazn |

15 | Is antichrist a man or a spirit? | 1 John 4:3 | prazn | 87420
Is antichrist a spirit or an actual person? May I submit that antichrist is any spirit of person who denies the power of the risen Lord (Jesus Christ) to overcome the power of evil one and relies instead on the power of mere human beings to do what only God can do.
16 | Anti-Christ will have lotsa charisma? | Revelation | prazn | 87411
Won't the anti-christ also be extremely charismatic (i.e., appealing) and a WORLD leader? Saddam is neither charismatic nor a world leader (except in his own delusional mind).
