2 | Are they the same God | Bible general Archive 4 | jlpangilinan | 235738
The new testament mention of a Loving God, while the Old Testament mention different. Are they the same God New Testament: 1Jo 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. The Old Testament: De 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. The same God that has a commandment that: De 5:17 Thou shalt not kill. are He the same God that gave command to kill even an infant? 1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. If God is love and righteous how come that He command the Israel thou shalt not Kill and the same time give also the command to kill even women and infants? Is He only referring to Israel not to kill each other and they are free to kill others outside the Israel even infants? |

3 | Murder Ok for Israel | Bible general Archive 4 | jlpangilinan | 235757
I dont care about the translations my friend if you can see the weight of my question really is not about for word "kill" or "murder". What I am asking is how come the loving righteous God commanded Israel not to "murder" each other and gave the command to "murder" infants and women? it seems that it is ok to murder or kill others if you are Israelites as long as you dont kill your own countrymen.? 1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. |

How a Loving and just God commanded such things? 1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. We can maybe assume that amalek was very evil person, how about the infants? Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Why the must kill the infants? they unskilfull about righteousness. Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. God bless, |

10 | Follow up Peter first Pope | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 12939
Brian, Thanks for the response, the reason why I asked this kind of question to because I read some verses in the Bible, (Matthew 23:8-9) and I hope you could explain it. This question is only just to get your explaination of your beleived and share it to us. Matthew 23:8-9 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Now my understanding is this, Peter is very being a desciple is very close to the teaching of Jesus Christ, how could he allowed himself to be called POPE or Holy Father? Please also see these other verses: Romans 16:1-27 I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us. Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord. Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household. Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord. Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord. Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them. Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them. Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. Written to the Romans from Corinthus, and sent by Phebe servant of the church at Cenchrea. of course if he (Peter) is Pope there St. Paul of course will greet him even only as recognition. Thank you, Johnny |

11 | Follow up second time Peter first Pope | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 12989
Brian G, I'm sorry but my question is about the verses 23:8-9 If you dont know what the title of Peter its okay, but may I ask this question again. Why you have to call your priest father? or the Pope Holy Father? Matthew 23:8-9 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. I hope I will not offended you I'm asking those question so you can have your opportunity to depend what you beleived in or it was written in the Bible. what I would want to get from you is to explain those verses. Thank you, Johnny Next time if you have time to answer our posted I will ask you about purgatory.... |

12 | Follow question to There and to Catholic | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 13001
There Thank you, but I think still not explain the verses that I was quoted. I hope you can explain these verses Matthew 23:8-9 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Hope you can enlighten us why you call your priest father? the same way you have Pope or Holy Father? which is different to what Jesus Christ taught to his disciples? If really willing to answer my questions, I have some question for you, and I hope you can explain it. This is my question from the Bible 1 Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. We know that catholic priest are forbid themselves to marry. They also encourage catholic member to abstain from meats during Holy Week. This is not to strike your believed (if you are a catholic) just a question why some propecies in the Bible sometimes happened and related to your doctrines. I hope you will not offended. If you can explain it to us, too many users of the this study Bible will englighten to your teaching and from different teaching from different religion. Thank you, Johnny Answer: Hi Johnny, I'm not Brian, but I may be able to answer that for you. |

13 | Is Title Reverend okay for the Pastor? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 13086
Thank you But in our group we call brother even our leader because we respect this verse and as we read this verse we understand that reverend is only for GOD's name: Psalms 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. Maybe we can ask Nolan about this Maybe you can study this verse and tell me what do you think. I would like to thank's God for this kind of opportunity that we can learn from each other. 14 | Psalm 111:9 | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 13267
Michelle, I dont know what is your point here Well I started this topic in this verse Matthew 23:8-10 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. My question is why Catolic keep calling thier priest father which is against the teaching of Jesus Christ? Regarding Psalm 111:9 Psalms 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. We call our even our leaders brothers and sisters which is right because we are all brothers and sisters. We also not also call reverend to our preacher. Now if we comparing translations, I'm using KJV which one of the oldest translation of the Bible this translation is translate word by word from the original scripture according to what is written and not according to the understanding of the translator of the Bible. Psalm 111:9 He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever-- holy and awesome is his name. (awesome) If we going to apply this to our preacher it will look this way: Maybe Most awesome Pastor or Maybe Most Breathtaking Pastor? or may the the most Astounding Pastor? Joke only! In Christ, Johnny |

Christmas. in first 330 years it was celebrated january 6. after 330 years of catholic religion, christmas date designated every 25 of december the very exact date of celebration of pagan god of rome satur "saturnilla" ---source catholic encyclopedia volume II page 607 Is there any apostle in the bible that celebrate the said events, is there any doctrine that give by the apostle that there is Christmas "the mass of Christ" and christian has to celebrate it or is this a truly invention of man: Ec 7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. Paul mentioned "that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, 1Co 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. Also scripures is complete why source from traditions whic is not in the bible Isa 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. 20 | God is everywhere? | Bible general Archive 1 | jlpangilinan | 73704
God is everywhere? Most of religion today teach that God is everywhere, but Christ taught us that His Father or our Father is in Heaven. Mt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Is God is everywhere? for example in a places such as beerhouses red house. Ge 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; If God is everywhere why this verse written the way like this: Ge 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. Ac 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Please support your answer with scriptures God bless, |
