4 | Pride is a good thing! Or is it? | Prov 23:7 | humbledbyhisgrace | 153370
Pride is a good thing! Or is it? How many of us have raised our children encouraging them to be proud of themselves and to take pride in their accomplishments. Teaching them to have confidence in themselves. I know I did and I thought this was the right thing to do. But is it? What are some better ways we can teach our children God's truths and use this to teach them to be confident instead of teaching them to be prideful in themselves?

6 | Do I understanding this correctly | Matt 6:13 | humbledbyhisgrace | 154988
Am I understanding this correctly in your opinion? Read James 1:13 James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man KJV Now read Matthew 6:13 Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. KJV Okay, in James 1:13 it's obvious what the scripture says. "God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man" In Matthew 6:13 it says "lead us not into temptation" Now, from my understanding this is how I see this. God does not tempt man period according to James 1:13 and we can take the word "lead" in Matthew 6:13 literally. For example, He may "lead" us or as we say a lot now days, "allow us" to be tempted but he does not tempt us. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks and may God bless you! |

7 | Why did Mary go in Hast? | Luke 1:39 | humbledbyhisgrace | 185138
Why do you think Mary was in a haste/hurry to go to the hill country? Luke 1:39 (NASB) Now at this time Mary arose and went in a hurry to the hill country, to a city of Judah, Luke 1:39 (KJV) And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; By Faith, Steve |

8 | The time of your visitation? | Luke 19:44 | humbledbyhisgrace | 177674
Greetings Brothers and Sisters! Looking for some help on this passage of scripture. Luke 19:41-44 (NASB95) 19:41 When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, 19:42 saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes. 19:43 "For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side, 19:44 and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation." Is it accurate to say that the time of ones visitation may be over long before ones death so to speak and that after this time of visitation the way will be hidden? I struggle to even ask the question properly :-( These are the things that stand out to me and I want to make sure I am not reading into this. Verse 44 mentions the time of ones visitation and the fact it was not recognized. Verse 42 seems to me to say judgment had already been passed for the things which make for peace were "now" hidden from their eyes. Does this apply to salvation? |

10 | No Fruit? | John 15:8 | humbledbyhisgrace | 205386
John 15:8 (NASB) "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples." The desire is to bear much fruit! The question is, if we find ourselves in a place where not much fruit or perhaps no fruit is being produced that perhaps it is God's way of telling us to move on? Steve |

11 | Appointed times, habitation boundaries | Acts 17:26 | humbledbyhisgrace | 169264
Am I reading this correctly (Acts 17:26-27)? Is this saying that the appointed times and habitation boundaries are designed to cause mankind to seek God? If so, what is it about the appointed times and habitation boundaries that give cause for mankind to seek God?
12 | Would his heart not be humbled? | Romans | humbledbyhisgrace | 191898
If one is called to teach the word of God Is he concerned with his own glory? Does he do so in a condescending way? Does he do so as if he is the authority on scripture? Does he approach it as if he is the only one who knows anything at all about God's word? What affect does pride have on his effectiveness to teach? Would his heart not be humbled at what God has called him to do and be obedient, humbled and gracious in that calling? Thoughts? Steve |

13 | Do you believe obi1kanobi? | Rom 10:9 | humbledbyhisgrace | 155397
Do you believe in the power of God's word? Obi, we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23 In Jesus, we have redemption through His blood. Ephesians 1:7 Unless we repent, we will perish Luck 13:3 Christ died for our sins, He was buried, He was raised on the third day Corinthians 15:3-4 It's only through our Lord and Saviour Jesus that you can have salvation. Romans 10:9 These things I point out Obi are from the Word of God. Not mine and not based on a church doctrine. They are God's words for all to see. Obi, look to the word of God for His truth. Forsake all others and the teachings of man and look to God and His word for His truth. Be honest with yourself. If you had really been given the truth by God, why then would you approach it with deceit? I ask this out of love Obi, not to cause divisiveness between us. But I pray you can be honest with yourself and ask yourself this question. If I was doing the things of God, why did I approach it as I did? To my brothers and sisters in Christ, I believe in the power of God's word as I know you do. (Isaiah 55:11, Hebrews 4:12, Romans 10:17). I believe there have been enough witnesses to Obi's actions and enough redirection. I ask you to pray with me for Obi and that God will show mercy and speak to his/her heart and to reject this evil. (John 14:13) |

15 | United Nations of religious groups? | Eph 4:4 | humbledbyhisgrace | 169467
United Nations of religious groups "At the opening ceremony Rabbi Yona Metzger said his idea of a "United Nations of religious groups" could "bring a bridge between religions to help the bridge of the diplomatic way". Rabbi calls for 'UN of religions' http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4800194.stm Some may see this as a good thing. I for one think about the affects this could have on the "Common Faith" Paul speaks about in Titus 1:4 and the "Common Salvation" Jude speaks about in Jude 1:3. Ephesians 4:4-6 I see no need for bridges! What say you? |

16 | More harm then good? | Eph 4:16 | humbledbyhisgrace | 203098
Do we (mankind) do more harm then good when we take upon ourselves and/or allow someone to serve in capacities within the church that they have not been gifted for? Some say, God will bless it because someone has stepped up to do that which no one else would do. Is this in fact true? Or do we do more harm then good? Steve |
