1 | Seeking Bible version history chart | Bible general Archive 2 | brazos | 145680
I am seeking an online graphics chart that lists the various Bible versions down through history. I ran across one not long ago and failed to bookmark the site. I found it very interesting because with a single glance I could tell what past versions were used in the newer versions. Perhaps someone has this chart themselves or knows an online site that has it. Thanks
2 | How many times was Jesus annointed? | Ex 28:41 | brazos | 162858
I was doing a study on the last days of Christ on earth and came across the annointing of Jesus. From what I have read there were three times that He was annointed. Matthew and Mark record the same annointing. Luke has another one. Then John records even another time. Any comments? |

7 | Where do we draw the line? | Matt 22:37 | brazos | 146574
With all the advancements in technology and all the diversity that exist in the world today I have a difficult time deciding what is acceptable in my walk with Christ. I realize there are many Biblical principles that can be applied to present day life to help me decide. I use this as much as I can. I pray asking guidance. I sometimes say "when in doubt, do without". Where do we draw the line on being in the world but not being of the world? Perhaps there are some fellow Christians that have a formula or outline that helps bring about a decision.

9 | Radical Boycott??? | John 17:15 | brazos | 154770
As I was surfing the web one day, I came across an invitation to join in on a boycott. It was reported that a big company was planning on supporting the Olympic games for homosexuals and lesbians. The person, or organization, suggested that we, as Christians, should boycott this company that was supporting this event. It sounded like a good idea to me. I have been thinking about this for sometime now. The conclusion I came to is we daily face the possibility of supporting and propagating the promotion of things that do not fit who we are in Christ. We give our money to purchase a product or service. The businesses we patronize maintain operations with the support we provide. Many of the corporate organizations partake in and promote ungodly practices for greedy monetary gain. Below is a list of examples of products/services and unchristian practices: 1. Cable or satellite television services--unacceptable language/violence/porn 2. Theaters and movie rental stores----gratuitous language, sex and violence 3. Grocery stores----tobacco products and alcoholic beverages 4. Super centers----products from foreign countries (possible sweatshops) (support of foreign people serving false gods) 5. Postal and parcel services---porn and ungodly items are shipped daily 6. Any foreign material products; automobiles, electronics, household items, ect. -----possible sweatshops and support of foreign people serving false gods 7. Internet services---promote unchristian ideas and products, gives access porn and other unacceptable practices I thought I had resolved this issue within myself. I thought "I give my money to them. What they do with it is between God and them". This idea was short lived. I thought again "But, if I know for sure that this company I am supporting is practicing ungodly deeds, then it is unchristian of me to do so". Ok, here, finally, are my questions: Is there any merit to what I have thought through and concluded? If so, then how is a Christian to survive in this world without supporting those who are going against God's guidelines? |

11 | Repentence: works or gift??? | Acts 11:18 | brazos | 156584
I came across some writings that stated that repentence is a gift from God. Before reading this I had always believed that repentence was an act of the individual and then God's part in the matter was to forgive and aid the individual in turning from a sin. Any thoughts or commits on this subject would be appreciated.
12 | Why effects of forgiven sins? | Hebrews | brazos | 174499
When we accept God's gift of salvation through faith in the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus Christ, God's son, our sins are forgiven. Our sins are blotted out. Our sins are cast as far as the east is from the west. Though our sins were scarlet, we are made white as snow. All our sins, past, present and future are covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. This is all true, yes? Then the question I have is why are there still effects of our sins? Such as God still disciplines us. We quench the power of the Holy Spirit. Our sins still have repercussions. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
13 | Did Jesus experence real temptation? | Heb 4:15 | brazos | 164385
This is a serious question. The whole question is "Did Jesus experience temptation as humans experience it?" I really do not understand or even see how He could have come close to experencing temptation to the degree and depth in which we experence it. Jesus did not have a natural inclination to sin as we do. Jesus did not even have the ability to sin. We do. Jesus hates sin and can not tolorate it. We do not always hate sin and are usually attracted to it. Jesus never fell to temptation over and over again there by making the temptation more inticing and resistance to it weaker. I am a born again Christian who has repented of my sins and am trusting in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for the redemption of my sins. I am a babe in Christ earnestly seeking answers to questions I have concerning His word and His character. Any help in understanding this would be gratefully accepted. I want to walk as closely with Jesus as I can. My intentions are not to offend anyone or to be irreverent. I just want to know Jesus and know about Jesus. Praise be to God, Brazos |
