Genesis 1:11-12 tell of God speaing to the earth to bring forth plants, and then plants growing on the third day. Man was then created on day 6. Thanks Doc, What I'm wondering, though is more how MATTHEW knew that it was a messianic prophesy. Seems he could've just been trying to "fit" Jesus to a scripture and declare that it was a prophesy. Do we have any knowledge that this was a known messianic prophesy before Matthew said it was?
7 | Why do they both include Shealtiel? | Matt 1:12 | Stevia | 167470
Matthew 1:12 After the deportation to Babylon: Jeconiah became the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel. Luke 3:27 The son of Joannas, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri It is my understanding that these are seperate geneologies. One is Mary's and the other is Joseph's. Why then, do they both include Shealtiel whose father was Zerubbabel? |
