How do I indicate the verse for my questions? When I look at the list of unanswered questions, mine says "Not Specified" but I do not see a field in which I can specify a verse while asking a question. | ||||||

Matthew 3:2 and 4:17 both contain "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (ESV) What does "... the kingdom of heaven is at hand" mean? Is that simply a statement that the Messiah has arrived on earth? |

My ESV translation gives this for Proverbs 10:22: "The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.[a]" For note a, it gives this: "Or and toil adds nothing to it" How did those two different translations come about? It seems to me the noted alternative indicates that working hard does add the riches of God's blessings. |

Per Matthew 3:11, what does it mean to be baptized by the Holy Spirit? Background: I am studying the passage of Matthew 3:5-12 and asked myself the following question (in regards to Matt 3:11-12): "John states that Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire, and then explains how Jesus will separate the saved from the unsaved. Is the baptism by the Holy Spirit for the saved, and the baptism by fire for the unsaved? If so, is the baptism by the Holy Spirit before or after a person dies?" |
