ye ganda, Let me try to give you Scripture verses. I studied this on Saturday, after reading your post. The passion of Jesus depends on when you think it started and how you define passion. It could be love, zeal or suffering. I take the latter meaning and start in the Garden, when He told Peter, James and John that His "soul was overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death" (Mat 26:38). The three were sleeping (vs :45), so Jesus prayed alone. Then the 11 fled (vs 55). He went through illegal trials (vv 57-67), Peter disowned Him (vv 69-75). Then He was crucified (27:35-50); verse 46 is the depth of His suffering, when He felt God abandoned Him. The resurrection is seen women in Matthew 28: fear (vv 5-7), joy (vs 8), spread news (vv 8, 10), worship (vs 9). I have looked at the two events from one Gospel. The first sermon preached was on the resurrection (Acts 2:14ff) and 3,00 were saved. Peter also preached it later (Acts 4, 10), as well as Phillip (Acts 8) and many times by Paul. It is woven through the letters (Rom 4:25, 6:4, 8:11; 1Co 15; 2Co 4:14; Gal 1:1; Eph 1:18-2:10; Php; 3:10; Col 2:12; 1Th 1:10, 4:14; 2Ti 1:10; Heb 13:20; 1Pe 1:3). The Lamb is living, though appeared to be slain is introduced in Revelation 5:6; read on through this book - chapters 5, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 19, 21 and 22. Study the passages and see the results of His resurrection. Steve PS There are predictions of both events in the Bible. |
