In 1 Samuel 10:25, it says, "Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom [defining the position of the king in relation to God and to the people], and wrote it in a book and laid it up before the Lord." (Amplified version) My question is: does anyone know if there is a copy of this particular writing that can be accessed? the reason for my question is that I am studying the Biblical foundations of government. |

Hi, Harlleyman... Welcome to the forum! Per Deuteronomy 31:36, it is likely that what Samuel wrote was placed in the temple near the ark. Josephus makes mention of this practice as well. Furthermore, it is probable that Samuel simply wrote a transcript of Deuteronomy 17:14-20. That appears to be the concensus for the scholars that I checked. In Him, Doc |
