Hello! Has anyone wondered what the Pilate did 'behind the screen'? Three times did he get up and go from the stone pavement. What could have been the intense debates for which the romans are famous for? What laws could have been cited to free Jesus first and then convict him? 'Pax Romana' at its best or worst? Hi, Viewmaster... Perhaps all he was doing was thinking. Why speculate that it was more? The arguments of the Sanhedrin were not particularly rational, so I'd say there wasn't much there to debate.
