1 | How do I keep a meak and humble heart? | NT general | patricia #1 nurse | 224900 | ||
Recently someone on facebook had a Bible verse, I think, on my wall that said " The Lord dwells in two places, Heaven and in the heart of the meak and humble". I felt like the words were speaking to me because earlier my boss had screamed at me in front of other staff and consumers. Her words were mean and tore me down like I did not know what I was doing. My heart was/is anything but meak and humble. I became very angry and embarassed. I wished I could afford to just quit my job so she could not do that to me anymore. Would God expect for me to have a meak and humble heart after what happened? How should my heart feel? I want God to dwell in my heart and I have prayed for him to and to put the feelings in my heart that should be there. I do not know much about the meanings of the bible so I would like some advice/education from people who does understand what the Bible means. Thank you. Patricia |

Dear Patricia, I think the forum is not a suitable place to give you advice or counseling per your situation for the purpose of the Host is to provide a platform for Bible study. However, in concern with your attitude toward scriptures, you should always check what people said if they are align with scriptures - as it is in your case of getting a bible verse (?) on facebook which I don't seem to remember such verse exist. It would be better to ask for citation of book, chapter and verse. Now, back to your case, since you are only telling one side of the story, there is no way that we can make any comments. I think there should be a reason that causes your boss scream at you, anyhow, no one on the forum can be your judge. May I offer the below scripture for your reference and encouragement. I think this should answer your question about being meek and humble. 1 Peter 2:20 Please remember to read the whole chapter 2. Shalom Azure |

I do apologize if asking my question in this forum upset you or interupted your Bible study. I just typed in "where can I ask questions about the Bible" and this site came up. I do not regret finding this site though because I have received some very good information and I had no one else to ask. I do not understand why you say WE in your statement because YOU are clearly speaking for yourself. God bless you. Patricia |

Patricia, Please don't be offended at sister Azure. She is right when she says that what you asked was a little beyond the scope for which these forums were intended. I was only able to scratch the surface of what I would say to somebody in my own church. Each of the four points I had I could have easily (and for some I desired to) streched them out to the length of that entire post or longer. But I was limited to 5000 letters! I actually had to delete my greeting on the start of it to make room for the answers. So the point is that your particular issue is far better worked out in person with godly men and women of a church. This, I think, is all Azure was trying to say to you, simply to express the inability of this forum to address your situation sufficiently. She truely is a blessing to this forum and I believe should you be willing to momentarily assume that her motives were good, then you will over time to find out for yourself why I am so willing to vouch for her. In my experience this forum is usually very tolerant of life questions in place of actually study questions, but as sister Azure did, we usually at the same time encourage them to seek more complete answers from their pastors due to the limitations of this venue of communication. In Christ, Beja |
