1 | Did the Romans kill Jesus or did the Jew | NT general | Bob Phelan | 223174
Thanks Tim for your answer. When looking into it very deeply, I believe you are correct but although Jesus (and all Christians now) know that is what he was doing at the time nobody knew on that first Easter, not even the disciples. That doesn't effect your answer however. Does anyone else have a viewpoint ... hard to beat Tim's I know but what about from another angle. I am not a Jew basher, I recently had an argumwent with our priest over this subject and he will not sway from 'the Romans killed Jesus and that is it'.

Dear Bob, Welcome to the forum. We don't come to the forum to "beat" someone's view point, but to study the Bible for edifying one another and to grow for the glory of our Lord. What Tim has said can be found in the below scriptures clearly and plainly. Do we still need to seek other viewpoints? Acts 2:22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know-- Acts 2:23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. John 10:18 No one has taken it [my life] away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father. Shalom Azure |

Amen Sister, Azure, when I read this question, John 10:18 is the verse that came to my mind too. Apparently, Jesus (God) took his own life, for us, so that we (His beloved children) wouldn't have to suffer His wrath. What truly amazing love and grace He has shown to those who love Him, because He loved us first! 1 John 4:19 John |
