1 | Meaning of day in the bible | Bible general Archive 4 | ChildofGod1988 | 202580
Hello fellow forum members. May God bless you this day. Now for my question. Is the word(in hebrew) used in Genisis for day, as in "on the second day," the same as the word used in the story of Joshua and Jerico? I feel that God did indeed create the universe in a literal 7 days. However to me, whether or not this, in particular, is literal is not critically important. If it would be possible, can you please provide different hebrew words for day and the meaning?? I would greatly appreciate it. I am anxious to hear back on this issue. God bless.

As you can see it also has been translated in other ways. The word 'day' (Strongs# 3117) in Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 14, 16, 18 (to list a few) is the same as Joshua 6;14, 15, 25. (Note Joshua 6:15 does have one 'day' based on mochoratham (Strongs# 4283)) Hopes this help. I would recommend getting a hold of a good concordance and it will help with word searches like this.
