Hi John and thank you for the note. Sorry this was not clear to you but I did not say "ouldn't". Of course he could have done anything. In a study the question was "During the transfiguration how are we reminded that he could have returned to Heaven at that time?" This was a challenege ?, we can go look outside of Bible for these and I'm legally blind, unable to see commentaries and could not understand the "How are we reminded that he could have returned to Heaven during the transfiguration?" I knew he had to fullfull what he came to do but could not just read form passage and could not understand from Mt 17:1-8 any verbage that explained in any verse there about how he could have writing down the verse for the answer. Only knew from my knowledge that of course he could have done anything.... Thank you and God bless, Velda |

Hi Velda, That's an interesting question. The passage in Matthew doesn't say- or infer- directly that He could have returned to heaven. It may be because He radiated the glory of God - "His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light" (17:1). Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Good point, Brother BradK, also, though it requires a bit of speculation on our part, The Voice of God, from the cloud, giving His, unquestionable approval. ? Just two cents.... God bless John |

I always thought it was tantamount to an order to shut up. You can't hear much when you are running your mouth about stuff you don't understand. It must have certainly driven the message home for Peter! Just my two mites... |

Ah! That does bring it to focus! Some say the grossest understatement of all time, is when peter said, "Lord it is good for us to be here!" :-) | ||||||
