Dear aworth35, There are two prominent ontological perspectives relative to the nature of man: trichotomy (tripartate: body, soul, spirit) and dichotomy (bipartate: body and spirit). Both have good Biblical foundations. You can see what others have said about this in the forum, by using the search function. Please remember that our gracious host, the Lockman Foundation, would prefer that we avoid using the forum for purposes of debate. In Him, Doc |

Hi, aworth35... Search function: to the right of your screen. Use keywords trichotomy or dichotomy. Use advanced search to see what I have written on the subject. Please, avail yourself of this free service. It takes a little bit of effort, but we will all welcome you to the particulars you can uncover there. Look here are some articles, too! http://www.theopedia.com/Humanity http://www.twoagespilgrims.com/doctrine/dichotomy-trichotomy-or-polychotomy/ http://chalcedon.edu/research/articles/the-nature-of-man-2/ I do not know how my acting may appear -- however, I did just wave to you cheerily. I also have a desire, I confess, for septuagenarian guitarists to become knowledgeable about Biblical anthropology. Happy reading! In Him, Doc |
