The new testament mention of a Loving God, while the Old Testament mention different. Are they the same God New Testament: 1Jo 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. The Old Testament: De 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. The same God that has a commandment that: De 5:17 Thou shalt not kill. are He the same God that gave command to kill even an infant? 1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. If God is love and righteous how come that He command the Israel thou shalt not Kill and the same time give also the command to kill even women and infants? Is He only referring to Israel not to kill each other and they are free to kill others outside the Israel even infants? |

Greetings, Just to set the record straight: God didn’t say what is written in “most” of our English translations of God’s Word. Exodus 20:13 (KJV) 13 Thou shalt not kill. The more exact translation for kill, in the English, is taken from the Hebrew word, “RASAH” and it should read as it is found in the NASB or New American Standard Bible. Exodus 20:13 (NASB) 13 "You shall not murder. Murder is used with reference to a civil code where as to kill is referring to the function of military forces in a time of war and believers are supposed to be the best at it while under God’s instruction. Psalm 144:1 (NASB) 1 Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle; CDBJ |

I dont care about the translations my friend if you can see the weight of my question really is not about for word "kill" or "murder". What I am asking is how come the loving righteous God commanded Israel not to "murder" each other and gave the command to "murder" infants and women? it seems that it is ok to murder or kill others if you are Israelites as long as you dont kill your own countrymen.? 1Sa 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. |

Are you saying that God made a mistake by not seeing things quite the way you see them? When we discover the truth of Scripture it stands in judgment of us, we don't stand in judgment of it! CDBJ |
