Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. If you seek Jesus said you will find. Seek out the meaning. God will let you know when the truth about it comes.God bless you!

Hello humbleheart, We need to be careful and not "proof-text" scripture! Acts 2:17 is not a fit answer for Jon. I intend no ill, but I'd have to question the wisdom of your answer! A bizarre dream as such without question has no Biblical meaning whatsoever! Jesus did not imply that one should "seek and find" answers to bizarre dreams! Context. God has spoken through His Word, not unconnected, random, strange dreams! "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Heb. 4:12) As our brother Doc very wisley stated "so much emphasis on experience, and so little emphasis on the Word these days"! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Dear BradK Im not sure what you mean by PROOF TEXT. But I asure you this scriture has everything to do with someones dream. It is still the last days as far as I can tell. If it was not Jesus would have made his second comming. This person who had the recurring dream was looking for answers. But all he seemed to get was insulted by the ones he reached out to. Please read the dreams that Daniel had if you think dream are plain and clear. I came to this site to ask a question myself and was totaly judged. I will ask you to please look up the scipture when Jesus said Who are you to judge another mans servant. Like your wise brother Doc did. With Beeny Hinn. Whether Benny Hinn is a fake or not.It is not his place to judge. Seeing that thousands have come to christ because of his mininsry. I am not saying this in anger to you. But The head knowlage you both seem to have needs to get into your hearts. I dont really care if you agree with me or not because I will continue to do the work of Christ in the way the Holy Spirit directs me. If you dont like it take it to God. Said in love back to you.

Hello humbleheart, Allow me to state and provide some perspective, if I may? I hope by doing so, you'll better understand where I'm coming from:-) In answer to your question, "what is Proof-Text? In short, to proof-text is to supply and/or support one's position using scripture without regard to it's context! Here's my concern: A dream is something that is entirely subjective in nature and therefore very difficult- if not impossible- to validate! No one was insulting anyone in their responses. Rom. 4:3 poses the question, "For what does the Scripture say?" (NASB) Why is it when one is asked to account scripturally, it's "he was insulted?" There was no insult, my friend:-) I don't believe you were judged in asking questions! Remember, what we say is on a public forum and open to the scrutiny of all! Again, I fail to see why requiring a solid, scriptural basis for one's statements is so difficult to understand! (cf 1 Thess. 5:21, 1 John 4:1) Jesus statement in Matt. 7:1 is so over-used and taken out of context. Instead, how about 1 Cor. 2:15, "The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one." ? You make an inaccurate assumption to assume I just have "head knowledge"! Let me ask you 2 questions in closing: 1. How would you describe Biblical Discerment?; 2. Do you honestly think that "dream" was of God or is validated in any way by the Word? If so, how? Dear humbleheart, Please do calm down, sir. I can understand that when our experience (which seems so real to us) is being challenged, it would be very annoying. However, please bear in mind that no matter how real our experiences are, it does not necessarily mean that they are "truth". Do you remember how Eve was deceived? In her experience, everything seemed so real - the fruit so delightful and good for food, God is so wise who knows good and evil (Gen 3) - thus, His Word was ignored. If you think / "feel" others judged you wrongly, show sarcasm or belittle you, why do you do the same to Doc (who only made one answer to justme not you). By the way, I believe it would be much wiser and noble to stand up for anyone who "need" help instead of "wanting" help. (Exodus 23:3, 6) What's wrong with "properly and correctly" using scripture to teach, reproof and correct (2 Tim 3:16) when there appear something in doubt or problematic on a public Bible study forum? Peace be with you. Azure |
