1 | Can Angels repent? | Bible general Archive 4 | Jay123 | 214884
I've been researching Angels recently when something occurred to me. God created Angels and gave them free will, as evidenced by 'sinning Angels' (fallen Angels, the war on Heaven). God created man and gave him free will, as evidenced by....well everyday of our lives. What I'm wondering is did God give us a privilege in repenting that Angels do not have? A full third (Revelation 12:4) of the Angels joined in Satan's rebellion and were cast down. I find it hard to believe that not one of them were sorry for their actions. Can Angels repent and be forgiven? It seems sad to me to be given free will with no chance for redemption from ones mistakes. |

I apologize for this question. I realize that there may be no Biblical precedent to effectively answer it, and any attempt to do so would be guesswork. This is my first post here and I am unable to find the 'edit' options to delete the post. Sorry.

Hi Jay, Welcome to the forum! No need to apologize. That was a fair question. God did not have to give us an opportunity to repent. He could have left us in the same condition as the fallen Angels. He has given this to us by grace. He didn't have to do it. Praise God that we have that opportunity to repent! John |
