1 | is mindreading demonic? | Bible general Archive 3 | gingerG | 169755 | ||
was chatting on christian chat the other day. had a woman on who thought "being able to read minds" etc. was a spiritual gift from God given at birth. I was using Act 16 to explain that it was a demonic spirit. In that scripture, the slave woman was a fortune teller and told hidden things.Woman on chat argued, was not the same as "her gift" I say it was. |

The Bible strongly condemns the practice of spiritism, mediums, occult, psychics, etc. (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13). Besides, there is just too much fault found too easily in what you say she said. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Tim |

Tim, Her friend says this ability that she has is from God. Is here friend even saved? Secondly if she is saved 1 Corinthians 12 addresses spiritual gifts. What you say regarding the Leviticus and Deuteronomy passages is right on target. Does this person Ginger is trying to help know that. What does fault have to do with anything here. If this is person really into mind reading then she needs to know she's in dangerous territory. If she isnt then she comes out of this more enliightened and educated and if she is here is an opportunity to share the Gospel and win some one to Christ. I would rather err on the side of caution. In Christ, lionheart |
