I recommend literal word-for-word translations such as the New American Standard Bible (NASB), the English Standard Version (ESV), the New King James (NKJV), or the Jay P. Green Literal Version (LITV). Always read prayerfully. Love in Christ, mark |

Mark: Just a simple note, that depending upon a persons reading level, the following are the grade level readings for some versions. ESV 8, NKJV 9, NASB 11, NIV 7.8, NLT 6.3, KJV 12, NIrV 2.9, The Message 4.8, GNT 6. This is just a peak at what reading level the publishers intended reading skills should be. I and many older ones in this forum must have been far advanced in our reading skills, because we learned our verses in the KJV. However, I don't remember the last time I just sat and read the KJV for enjoyment. I find the NASB and the NIV the two versions I use most. Blessings mark. justme |
