Hi Jeff, Referring to your comments regarding TBN I would like to comment that I have no problem with a person owning a plane if it is used to further the kingdom of God. I believe if a minister's Material blessings stem from His or Her "GIVING" it is scriptual for them to be blessed for the "KINGDOM'S SAKE". In other words, being too poor can not represent the KING OF KINGS very well. What one gives is usually what one gets and more. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and those in prison, setting the captives free, preaching the word in season, reaching the nations with the gospel to the poor...that they can be free from poverty thru kingdom laws is a preregusite to having abundance needed to represent "THE KINGDOM OF GOD" God is not poor and HE HAS PLENTY TO GO AROUND...Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down and running over..... I do know there are "charlatans" in this world. Like you, my spirit does not "bear witness" with them. I know we must try the spirits. It is not a person's gift that we judge them by, but rather their fruit. In my studies, as others have noted, Peter made some wrong statements to Jesus and he said to Peter, "Get thee behind me Satan", but Peter went on later to be given the keys to the kingdom. Peter was a little to quick "on the trigger", but Jesus worked with Him and he finally "Got It Right" (smile) I appreciated your comments that some false statements may be made on TBN, but I appreciate the diversity. I have a problem with a church and pastorate that does not allow for discussion and only a dictatorial pastorate that will reject you if you view something in another manner or see a flaw in their mannerism (lack of the fruit of the spirit). I hear incorrect statements made by ministers in church also. I also see injustices iin local churches as well as money not spent to care for the poor, but rather buildings and more buildings I do believe a goregous elaborate church building cannot reach the nations with the gospel....(I know a song titled : My house is full but my field is empty) A PLANE TO CARRY THE MESSENGER carrying A LIFE GIVING MESSAGE can do a faster job and reach more people. A television network can carry the gospel to more places and faster. "When the gospel of the kingdom has been published in all nations, then shall the end come....the end of governments that are in power at this time. THE TIME IS SHORT. WORK WHILE IT IS DAY FOR THE NIGHT COMETH WHEN NO MAN CAN WORK. USE WHATEVER MEANS AVAILABLE! GOD CAN AFFORD A PLANE TO BE USED FOR HIS KINGDOM. THE UNITED STATES CAN AFFORD A PLANE TO CARRY BOMBS TO DESTROY LIVES. I would rather pay taxes to send a minister of the gospel to bring Life than pay taxes for BOMBERS PLANES AND TRANSPORTATION FOR POLITICIANS THAT CAN DO NOTHING TO SAVE SOULS. SURELY WE CAN GIVE A MINISTER A PLANE TO SAVE SOULS I hope my "just food for thought" will be understood. Sometimes we answer our own questions when we write out our own thoughts! (Smile) I would appreciate your further comments!!! Blessings in Love, savedbyunmeritedfavor |

TBN 'Paul Crouch* 'Paul Crouch and his wife, Jan, are the founders of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, which today has an estimated net worth of half a billion dollars. As Crouch himself puts it, "God has, indeed, given us the MOST POWERFUL VOICE in the history of the WORLD."65 Unfortunately, this voice is being used to promote teachings straight from the kingdom of the cults. Crouch's influence has become so vast that he can now raise as much as 50 million dollars during a single "Praise-a-Thon." What many of the well-intentioned Christians who support TBN do not know, however, is that part of this money goes to promoting cultic groups and individuals who not only deny the Trinity but claim that this essential of Christianity is a pagan doctrine.66 It is indeed ironic that a broadcasting network called "Trinity" would promote anti-Trinitarian doctrine. 'To those who would speak out against the false teachings proliferated on his network, Crouch has this to say: "I think they're damned and on their way to hell; and I don't think there's any redemption for them."67 Shortly after I met with Crouch to prove that the Faith movement compromises essential Christian doctrine, Crouch looked into the lens of the television camera and angrily declared, "If you want to criticize Ken Copeland for his preaching on faith, or Dad Hagin, get out of my life! I don't even want to talk to you or hear you. I don't want to see your ugly face. Get out of my face, in Jesus' name."68' _______________ *Paul Crouch. Saved, When I wrote the previous post, I was quoting another writer. I know enough about some of the leading programs on TBN to know that they are teaching very bad doctrine. But I don't know enough about TBN to list which shows are cults and which are not. What I can do is refer you to a document on the web that discusses some of the major false teachings of many preachers who are featured on TBN. To read the article go to: www.equip.org/free/DC755-2.htm In referring you to this website, it is not my aim to unjustly criticize anyone. However, bad doctrine is bad doctrine, which is dangerous and harmful. People have a right to know and Christians have an obligation to warn others of false teaching, whatever the source. We are not to coddle, excuse, or tolerate false doctrine. We are to expose and refute it. Grace to you, John |
