1 | Verses That Point to No Races? | Bible general Archive 3 | thenoel2 | 181079 | ||
I agree that there is only one race of people, and I think I understand why that may be so. Afterall, all people came out of Adam/Noah. However, I would like to find out how to defend this notion by specific verses other than those pointing to the fact that we all have a common ancestory. Are there any? Are there any in the NT that do not point back to references in the OT? I am just wondering so that I may be able to make a stronger argument for it. thanks in advance, thenoel2 |

thenoel2, Semantics can complicate even the most simple thought. Certainly there is more than one race when ethnicity and culture is the focus. It might be argued too that there are only two races of man, the saved and the unsaved. Still throw out the semantics and focus on the question or concern. If your need is to "defend this notion by specific verses..." and if we are still talking about the issue of marriage, I would argue that you are taking on a task that need not be taken on. If someone wants to challenge interracial marriage by pointing to the Scirptures, the task is theirs to prove the point. They won't be able to. Jeff |

Yes, I suppose the issue is semantics. I do know that interacial marriage is not condemned by the Bible. I know that it is perfectly fine. My question was not about marriage; sorry for not stating that. I just wanted to know if there are any verses that specifically state that there is only one race. But as you pointed that depends on semantics. I guess I was intermingling ethnicity and race. And I suppose there are multiple ethnic types. Thanks for clearing that up. |
