1 | Whom baptizes with the Holy Ghost | Bible general Archive 3 | ASuba | 180006
In my seeking and searchng to be a Man of God, A Man after the heart of God. I found verse after verse in the new testiment about being baptized in the Holy Ghost. As well as the gifts of the Holy Ghost. My question is who baptizes us in the Holy Ghost and what are the gifts of the Holy Ghost. I see in John 20:22 where John breathed on them and said unto them Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Also in Acts 19:6 Paul laid hands on them and the Holy Ghost came on them. And it seems that the gift of the Holy Ghost in this instance was speaking in tongues and prophesied. What I've gotten from my study and writing you right now is that the gift of the Holy Ghost is power to speak on to your mountians, to have power over the enemy of our souls. If that is the case please guide me to how I may be baptized in the Holy Ghost that I will not be whiped time in again in areas I should have command over. ASuba jaasyl@Hotmail.com |

a pastor baptises in the Holy Ghost, "i now baptise you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost"(than they are submurged in water or "sprinkeled") as far as "gifts" they are spiritual gifts, and the only way we can have them is to be one with God their are many gifts availble but only certan ones apply to specific people, the way you find out is by takeing the spiritual gift 'test', to be baptized isnt saying "hey im christian now because i got baptized" its more of a clensing of our sins PUBLICLY and stateing our faith is with the kingdom of God to get a more indepth discussion about it your best bet is to talk to your pastor, he could provide the best awnser for you any who i hope this helped

Thank you for your answering, but if you look at KJV Luke 3:16 John says he baptizes with water, but one cometh that will baptizes with the Holy Ghost. This is important because John didn't say one will come that will baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, but he said one cometh that baptizes with the Holy Ghost. This says to me the Holy Ghost is the substance in which is used. Also if we look at John 20:22 we see that Paul breathed on them, and said receive ye the Holy Ghost. So here we see that Pauls breath is the medium used to transfer the Holy Ghost. I ask this question and seek answer because I beleive that I am at or nearing the time when I receive the baptizm of the Holy Ghost and want to be ready to receive Gods anointing on my life.

well what is the Holy Ghost but Jesus? what is the Holy Ghost but God himself, all three are one and being baptised there (personal translation) would mean letting Jesus in to your heart to rule your life 120 percent letting him in every door, every corner, nook and craney, personaly to you it may mean something else but thats what it reads to me, i appologise if this isnt what you are looking for but its just what i beleave it is saying

Answer to the reply to my question. some one left a note saying that Jesus is the Holy Ghost. That being true how do you answer John 20:22 And when he (Jesus) had said this, he breathed on them and saith unto them receive the Holy Ghost. So we see in this verse that Jesus himself baptized with the Holy Ghost. We see Paul laying hands on people and they receiving the Holy Ghost and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. What I am understanding is that when the Holy Ghost is upon you, you receive power. I beleive it is the power to tread on all the power of the enemy. I am seeing that not many and none that I know are baptizing with the Holy Ghost. So many are missing the power to have power in their lives and the ability to say unto the mountians of their lifes be thou removed and the mountians will be moved. This is the teaching and relationship I want with my Father

Dear Asuba, There are several serious problems with your post: Making normative for contemporary Christians an act exclusive to Christ, deriving doctrine from narrative, and equivocating relative to the Scriptural use of the word "power" . Furthermore, your application and allegorization of Christ's teaching in Mark 11:23-25, in the light of the clear teaching of other passages, is a bit dubious. These problems reduce the overall persuasiveness of your argument. Indeed, it should raise significant concerns if this interpretive technique is the sole foundation of your denominational perspective. I'm afraid the breadth of these issues makes it cumbersome to deal with them all in a single thread. If you're interested in further discussion of the sound interpretation of Scripture (hermeneutics) -- and if we can avoid a purely denominational focus, per the terms of use -- please separate your thoughts into individual threads. In Him, Doc |
