There are many different types of love in the Bible. ahab (Heb.) To have affection for (sexually or otherwise (Strongs #157) chashaq (Heb.) to cling, to delight in (Strongs #2836) racham (Heb) To have compassion upon, mercy, pitty (Strongs #7356) agab (Heb) To breathe after, dote, lover (Strongs #5689) agapao (Gr.) To love in a social moral sense (Strongs #25) Phileo (Gr.) To be a friend to, Fond of (Strongs 5368) Agape (Gr.) affection or benevolence, charity (Strongs #26) Agape is the greatest of all. The Strongs don't say this but I think it fits Agape love is a sacrifical love. It is an un dieing love unconditial Love. It is the Love Christ has for us. |
