separation to God is the essence of holiness and can therfore apply to almost anything that is in this state. The angels that fell evidently are not holy as they 'left their first estate'. Angels themselves are ministering spirits to us who believe and are thus not necessarily holy however by the nature of their work with us who are seperated unto the Lord it would seem holiness is a by-product of their role, presumably working within the holy of holies that has now been opened through the blood of christ, the torn veil. In as much as they dwell in light in the way we do, the light is thus purifying (as God holds angels to account for errors etc) although there is no sin nature attaching to them and thus they may be regarded as pure. The notions of good and evil pertain particularly to this earth and it's ages, being the result of eating the fruit of knowledge. Beings that have not fallen are not really in this sphere of having to make a choice between good and evil, I think, although certainly at one point some did fall and did make a conscious choice to sin. We, however, are born in sin and hence our consciousness is different from angelic beings although the renewal of the Holy Spirit in our lives raises our consciousness to freedom from sin. | ||||||
