Confusing question . . . Jesus was born in Israel, Bethlehem, and lived and grew up in northern Israel in Nazareth. He was Jewish and therefore one can assume he was the same color as every other Jew or Israelite at the time. He was not from Africa, but did spend time there when a very young child. But, as the others have asked, what is the purpose of the question? Especially since the answer is historically obvious. Does it matter his color? No. Does it matter his genealogy and race? YES. The Messiah had to be an Israelite from the tribe of Judah; therefore he had to be a Jew. MJH |

i thank you for you answer, you were the most honest,i did not ask bibical, i asked human aspect, even though we want to think of jesus as the lord all the time, and our world is so one color, that our world would never agree the our king was of the dark race, and if that was so, then a true jew is black, not high yellow. my question was a honest open wonder one that everyone has, have you not ever wondered that? no it does not matter even if he was orange, but out of all the time he walked the earth and all the thousands of people, not one really drew a picture on a stone, nor described him to the tea, why do you wonder that? thank you again. | ||||||

Dear Hayley, There is no picture -- and there should not be -- because a picture or statue would only capture His human appearance. Jesus is much, much, more than that -- He is diety. For the same reason, your preocupation with skin color seems like you're missing the point. Furthermore, you wrote, "I did not ask biblical" (sic). This is a Study Bible Forum. Consequently our interest is in Biblical questions. In Him, Doc |
