Hi, Guare... Lots of sources. Some of the books identify their authors explicitly. The other books are associated with various authors based on traditional understanding. You might find the following link helpful: http://www.biblebb.com/files/howbible.htm In Him, Doc "You all have by you a large treasure of divine knowledge, in that you have the Bible in your hands; therefore be not contented in possessing but little of this treasure. God hath spoken much to you in the Scripture; labor to understand as much of what he saith as you can. God hath made you all reasonable creatures; therefore let not the noble faculty of reason or understanding lie neglected. Content not yourselves with...divine truth...you accidentally gain in conversation; but let it be very much your business to search for it, and that with the same diligence and labor with which men are wont to dig in mines of silver and gold." --Jonathan Edwards |

Hi Doc I really like the quote you used by Jonnathan Edwards. He is right the Bible is a treasure. Sometimes the readings get a little dry or 'i already know that'..then I do a lot of cross referencing and the interest is there again.Does anyone else have ways to keep bible reading and study interesting? Hi, Seedling... The Puritans used to say that Bible reading and meditation were disciplines. Consequently, you should approach it as such. The flesh will resist, as it does to every kind of discipline, especially spiritual ones. Since we are to have an intense love for our Lord, think of it this way: What would your reaction be if your wife said, "I know I'm supposed to listen to you, but I can only really do so when it is interesting." :-) In Him, Doc |

Dear Seedling, If it is any encouragement, I think all of us struggle. Sometimes it is like a delightful spring drive in the mountains, other times it feels like a drive through Nebraska. :-) In Him, Doc PS Finding someone to hold you accountable for your reading -- maybe even reading at the same time with a few others -- might be helpful. |
