What is so wrong with Roman Catholics. I am intrigued by their worship formats. They are disciplined and have strict adherence to the Bible. | ||||||

4thetruth, Welcome. Nothing is wrong with Catholics that isn't wrong with anybody else, New Creature's opinions notwithstanding. I happen to be Catholic and I do not recognize myself in his description. I wonder how his Catholic friends would describe him and his Protestant faith and if he would recognize himself in their description. Well said, Emmaus! I was thinking of posting the same thing: "There is nothing wrong with Roman Catholics that is not wrong with all of us." I was reading recently where a Puritan once said that if we disagree, we should first state the opposing view as clearly as we can. We should even hope that our partner in debate would say to us afterward, "Yes, that is what I believe! You have stated it as well as I would have done!" The closest I've ever seen that done was in the debates between Erasmus and Luther -- kudos to them both for such Christ-like honesty! Anyway, that crossed my mind when I read your rhetorical question "if he would recognize himself." Wouldn't it be something if we could each define the other that well? In Him, Doc |
