Sometimes destruction is the most merciful act. God is the Creator, He can do as He pleases with His creation, and that without seeking any counsel but His own. We do not see how utterly heinous is sin, nor how monstrously it offends a holy God. Every time we see what God does and we think, "No fair" we are demonstrating that we do not appreciate just how holy He is and just how wicked man can be. If one sin warants death, it is amazing that God is not killing us off wholesale! The Hebrew 5:13 reference is using babies as an example. The author is wondering at why his audience have not matured more than they have in the proper handling of the word. |

Oh no... so very sorry! I switched from one topic to another in those paragraphs. I can see how you mixed them together. :-( Life and death is ultimately in the hands of our God. However, we are quite clearly commanded regarding the sanctity of life. (Although I think an argument can be made for warfare and capital punishment, but these are ultimately acts of nations, not of individuals.) | ||||||

I you think (althought what I want is an scriptures answer, and not what others think) argument can be made in warfare and capital punishement, what do you think God commanded to kill an infants, is that nations or idividual. If nations, are you saying that killing an infants in warfare is ok, what is the sin of the infants, are skilled in what is right and what is wrong? In warfare other may say it is because of self and nations defense, how killing an infants, what harm an infant can do to you, or a soldier so it is commanded to murder them? Again, what is the purpose of the commandments "thou shall not kill" if eventually you were commanded to murdered an infants? God bless, |

Read people's posts more closely. Don't put words in someone else's mouth. (This is akin to the "straw man" argument.) Arguing for the sake of arguing is not the purpose of this forum. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. (2 Timothy 2:23) But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. (Titus 3:9) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth [or in our case, fingers], but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (Ephesians 4:29) |

This forum is not accepting "i think" "you think" but the answer with the scriptural proof. If someone can answer that question, it is a benefit for more people. Many person can be encountered and would be ask the same questions, do you think your quoted verses in your answer will do if a non believer will ask the same question with mine? we have to answer them! 1PeĀ 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: God bless, |

When God said in His law "Thou shalt not kill", He chose to use one of several Hebrew words that mean "kill", this one that would be more properly translated "murder". Hebrew has a word that means "kill - to strike unto death", but with no moral implication, and it is used referring to killing an animal, for food or sacrifice. Different words are used to indicate malicious intent, ambush, and manslaughter (you meant harm but not death, nonetheless the victim dies). When the Bible records that God commands the death of people, the word meaning simply "to kill" is used. The Bible does not characturize God's actions as murder, but rather as killing. The primary difference is that the words for murder signify unjustified killing, whereas there is no question of justification when God kills or commands the death of people. When God does something, it is right for Him to do so. So we arrive at the crux of the matter - why? Why does God kill? Why does God command the deaths of innocent babies? The truth is, as high as the heavens are above the earth, so God's way are above our ways. We can only speculate. But we can begin our speculation knowing there must be a good reason. Is it because that particular nation was so riddled with disease? The sexual immorality of these nations that God commanded the complete destruction of was such that this would likely be the case. Or because God knew that if there were survivors, they would grow up in bitterness and rebellion, and cause further harm to themselves and to others? Was He judging the nation for sin, yet saving the innocent by calling them home to Himself? Since "the soul that sins God will blot from His book" (Ex. 32), those babies and young children that have not sinned because they have no understanding of law go to be with God. We ask "how can it be right for God to kill babies?" If we knew all the facts, as God does, we would be saying "righteous and true are Your judgments, O Lord!" The bottom line for each of us is whether or not our names remain written in the Lamb's Book of Life, not whether we are happy or sad here in this world. All this will be done away with, only the world which is to come will remain. All whose names are not in the Book of Life will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, all who are written in the Book of Life will be part of the first resurrection, to be with our God forever. The children of Amelek, who had not sinned for their young age, will be there with us, Glory to God our Lord!!! I hope this helps. Love in Christ, Mark |
