I've enjoyed reading the works by Metzger including "Metzger's Textual Commentary on the Greek NT", and his book the, "New Testaments Transmission, Corruption, and Restoration". Does anyone know of any similar books for the Old Testament? Thanks! Huron |

I don't think so as there isn't much of a controversy. I think everyone uses Biblia Hebraica Stutgarttensia or Kittel's and they basically come from the same manuscripts and read basically the same. There was a copy made in 1008 by Asher also known as B19a but everyone views it as corrupted. EdB |

Yes, judging by the lack of books regarding OT manuscripts versus the abundance of them for the NT, I'd say you are right. Just found out that the "extra space" space left in the Alexandrian manuscripts for the longer Mark ending theory is bunk. Suspected such. Huron |

Greetings Huron! If I recall correctly, the OT text was standardized quite early. So, most of the copies we have all say pretty much the same thing. This would explain the scarcity of books on the subject. :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
