Dear fellow christian: In the bible it says that god's temple is holy place and we should not wear shoes. But in America everyone even the preacher wears shoes and enter into church? Is that not against God's word. In india no one is allowed to enter church with shoes. I appreciate your help in understanding why it is ok to enter church with shoes In Christ, gundalas |

Hi Kalos: Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. I believe church is also a holy ground. Thanks, gundalas |

gundalas: When one reads Exodus 3:5 IN CONTEXT, he readily discovers that this verse is an extract from the famous burning bush passage in which God himself appears to Moses in what theologians call a theophany. God's command to Moses to remove his sandals on this highly significant occasion does not constitute a foundaton upon which to base a doctrine that worshipers must worship barefooted. And it makes no difference what Hindus in India do. Christians take their marching orders from the Bible, not from the Bhagavad Gita. --Hank | ||||||
