I've been following the discussion regarding KJV vs. other translations. There has been a lot of good material presented. What is your take on the Westcott and Hort Greek New Testament. How widely used has this NT been in translating our modern versions. What about Westcott and Hort's well documented disdain for God's Word, and their background in the occult? I absolutely believe the infallability of God's Word, and that He will protect it against tampering, and will maintain the integrity of His message.

Greetings Mark! So, which did God protect? Did He protect the original manuscripts, the copies, or the translations? We don't have the original manuscripts! The copies differ from one another in minor points. Translators are falliable. All of which point to the modern translation being more accurate since they are best upon older, better, and more numerous manuscripts than were available at the time of the translation of the KJV. Hi Tim, I believe God protects His message. To any who are looking, God will teach in spite of how men may have re-interpreted His Word. Like our Lord said, "My word will accomplish the purpose I sent it for". Chuck Missler likes to compare the Bible to a holograph - if you remove part, you don't lose image, but you do lose resolution. The best any of us can do is to open our hearts to the Lord, be diligent to study His Word however He leads us, and trust in His Holy Spirit to teach us. Love in Christ, Mark

Greetings Mark! I too believe that God protects His Word. As EdB mentioned in one of his posts to you, no translation is perfect. While there are differences in the manuscripts, the differences usually involving spelling and/or word order. So, some translations may be more accurate than another, but none of the legitimate translations would lead anyone astray. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
