Okay I got a question, why do people feel they must come to this forum and ask cryptic or half baked questions to appear spiritual. Have they been watching to much TV. I know TV loves to portray the meaning of life by having a guy go to some sort of sage and receive profound nonsense in response of their question. Does being cryptic make some think they are mysterious or have deep revelation that the rest of us just aren’t smart enough to get or what. I guess if we can’t ask a question is such a way the listener goes “huh” we aren’t spiritual. What a crock of nonsense! EdB |

Being new to this website I do not know how people normally word their questions and answeres. But I do know that in many of our churches if you do not speak christanise your lost in most of the conversations. This has always been a problem for me as we try really hard to get non churched people to come into to the church and run them away with the strange way we talk. In many cases these people thank we are talking down to them and that is terrible. So I guess in a nutshell what I'm tring to say is although these people may wish to seem super spiritual they are most probly hurting the cause of Christ. If you will look at all the gospels Jesus always spoke in lanuage people could understand easily. tgc | ||||||

You make a good point. Sometimes we forget about our great example in the Apostle Paul 1 Cor 9:18 What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel without charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel. 19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more. 20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law though not being myself under the Law, so that I might win those who are under the Law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law. 22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some. 23 I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it. Sometimes we forget to humble ourselves and see ourselves as just vessels for God so He can shine His light through our lives to the whole world, especially those that read or study their Bibles. But all this being said, let's not forget we must speak where the Bible and we should be silent when the Bible is silent and thus allow some diversity on those issues. Hope this helps and God bless. --Rowdy |
