GODSADVOCATE Jesus confronted sin and people involved in sin. Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Matthew 12:34 "You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. Matthew 23:33 "You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell? Jesus’ preaching endangered the Pharisees, they were afraid they were going to lose control they enjoyed over the people. I don’t think anything was different about Jesus’ preaching than the prophets they were all killed and mistreated too. Any time sin is confronted anger is an immediate reaction, we just don’t want to submit to anything other than our wicked flesh. EdB |

I agree. And for the same reasons most people don't like those of us that follow Jesus. By our very existence we convict people of their sin, and soon there will come a time when our existence is not so easily tolerated and protected. We in the U.S. will have an exceptionally hard time coming to terms with the changes that are coming. Thank God that His Spirit will give us the words to speak when such times do come. | ||||||
