1 | I need answers to several questions . | NT general Archive 1 | CJS | 5598 | ||
My neice asked me several questions and I was wanting to give her scripture to back up the answers I would give to her. 1. Women being silent in the church. She knows in the scripture that the women were asked to be silent because they were causing trouble, but what about now? 2. Does God still speak to us like He did in the Bible times? He hasn't changed but I need scripture to help me. 3. Musical instruments in the church 4. What about communion? Just on Sundays, any day of the week at any time and every Sunday. I realize this is a lot but I would love to give her God's word and not just what I know from God's word. Thank-You a Bunch! four Him, CJS |

1) Joel 2:28a, 29 and Acts 2:17a, 18: In the last days I shall pour out my Spirit on ALL flesh, and your sons and your DAUGHTERS will prophecy... Even upon my slaves, BOTH men and WOMEN, in those days I will pour out my Spirit and they shall prophecy". If Christ is pouring out His spirit on us and giving us prophecys I don't believe He still means for us to be quiet. 2. God still does speak to us but through His son. He can do this in a variety of ways including through His word, through other people, or through sermons or messages to name a couple. 3. I will refer you to a question of 5/17 - "should music be allowed in church?" Throughout the Old Testament there are numerous scriptures of musical instruments being used in church for worship and praise. You can find many of them in the Psalms. 4) There was a long debate on this question last month. There were 2 questions asked by Charis -"Communion, how often?" and question "Weekly Communion?" These were asked on 4/28 and 4/29. There are a lot of opinions and you can draw your own conclusion because the bible does not say specifically. Hope this helps. prayon |
