Tim, I tend to view the conscience as being a gift from God and uniquely human (animals hardly have a conscience -- though I wouldn't be surprised to see this issue debated on the forum :-). And I view the conscience as being like an empty basket. We can choose to fill it with the sweet fruits of the Spirit which we harvest from God's word, or with the bitter fruits of evil and corruption which we harvest from the world. The conscience alone is not an infallible guide; it must be saturated with and nurtured by the truth of God that is revealed in His word. --Hank | ||||||

Hank: You write: " . . . (animals hardly have a conscience -- though I wouldn't be surprised to see this issue debated on the forum :-)." What saith the Panthera leo strang? How readest thou? All conscience is not the same conscience: but there is one kind of conscience of men, another conscience of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. Radioman |
