Shalom to you, too, Dhaniel. This subject to me is never divisive, as with any other subject. Yes, you are right in saying that the fact He rose from the grave is what is most important. And you are as well right to say the Scriptures never actually state the Messiah rose on the first day of the week. That is because the Scriptures in Greek tell us He rose from the grave early Saturday morning (Mark 16:9) - 'proi protei sabbatou'. Could you tell me the ID nos. of your previous posts explaining why you believed He rose from the grave "just as the Sabbath is dissolving into the first day of the week"? Or, you may directly post a note regarding this. I just want to know the scriptural basis you used. Thanks. Again, Shalom. dodoy |

Greetings doday, I simply use the "sign of Jonah" (three days and three nights) quote from the Master Himself. The timing works out just fine - not exactly 72 hours (as some demand) but 3 actual nights and 3 actual days. Dhaniei |

Hi Dhaniei Just a question as I see you are a Messianic Jew and would probably have a better understanding of the separation of days vs. nights. I believe as you do frome the sign of Jonah statement made by Jesus. Anyway my question is We all know that there was a big rush to get Jesus off the cross and in the tomb before sundown. This then taking place in that manner "Does His being in the tomb before sundown then count as the first day"? Is only part of the daylight hours still counted as a full day? The other thing is how can Jesus have a Passover meal with his disciples before He was crucified? Isn't the Lamb Eaten during the Passover meal? Luke 22:10-12 If Jesus has had this meal then it is already the Holy Day Celebration isn't it? What then would be the big rush? Help me out here will you. I just can't see Him as the Passover Lamb slain for the sins of the world and eating the Passover befor He was crucified. Have a Merry Christmas lightedsteps |

I have read the Galilean (some say Essenes) worshippers had their lamb killed on one day before, their Judean brothers. One used the old way of dating (starting from morning and going to the following morning. The rest followed the official dating method (from evening to evening). Thus, it may be possible there were two times when lambs were being killed in the Temple for sacrifice. | ||||||
