Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" Matthew 28:17b, 19 "And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them." Mark 16:11, 13 "And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. . . Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. . . And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? . . . And he took it, and did eat before them . . . And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. . . but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." Luke 24:11, 39, 41, 43, and 47 The disciples were having a problem believing that Jesus had resurrected. These verses (above) are from the other three Gospels and are parallel to John 20:18-23. "He breathed on them" showing them that He was not a ghost, but alive again. In Luke's account, He ate fish and honeycomb, and told them to touch Him, to show that He had resurrected.
