1 | Why is the bk of John between Luke/John | NT general Archive 1 | tarusbaby | 11839
As I understand it, Luke and Acts were written by Luke. In Luke he wrote of things that Jesus began to do and teach until his ascension and Acts tells of what Jesus said and did until he was taken up. Acts takes up where Luke left off. My question is why is the book of John between Luke and Acts? I have a curious mind. Correct me if I am wrong about my idea on the two books. Thank you for any response. |

2 | Why is the bk of John between Luke/John | NT general Archive 1 | BLoar | 11840
My understanding has been that Matthew, Mark, and Luke have similar accounts of Jesus' life. They are therefore called the parallel gospels. John's gospel has many events that aren't in the first three. Some examples are the wedding at Cana, the story of Phillip and Nathanael, the account of Nicodemus, the woman at the well, etc. I think the idea was to put the three together that were similar. John's gospel is also considered, by some people, to be a little harder to understand without having first read the other three, which would explain why the parallel gospels come first.
