1 | Women Preachers? Yes or No? | NT general Archive 1 | GeorJoy | 94877
We "belierers" are not under the law. In many ways, todays Churches are as the Pharasees and Sadjucees in the days of the early Church. No matter what discussion man may participate in concerning your question, or what conclusion man may come to, the meaning of the following verse will never change. (KJV) Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. One thought though. The above verse did not state that "there is neither homosexual nor hedrosexual...." Scripture refers to such as an "abomination." Nature itself condems such a so-called " alternate lifestyle". You'll need to understand the culture of the original Church to get a full answer to your post concerning women preachers. Perhaps someone will post a more discriptive answer concerning such. God Bless George |

GeorJoy -- Generally speaking, generalities are generally somewhat too general to be specifically accurate, would you not, as a general rule, generally agree? Therefore, your statement that in many ways today's churches are as the Pharisees and Sadducees in the days of the early church gives me pause and causes me to ponder. Is this really true? Have all churches fallen apostate and succumbed to legalism like the Pharisees, or abandoned their belief in the resurrection like the Sadducees? In many ways? What ways? What churches? Has the church the body of Christ, fallen away from the faith that was once and for all delivered to the saints? I don't mean to be nit-picky with you, George, but I do feel that broad, sweeping statements of this ilk do little good and serve little purpose in the absence of specificity. Hank, you know as well as I do that this forum could not support a post large enough to thoroughly answer your post, so generally speaking, do you believe that Christ and His "unleavened" word is taught and adheared to in the Church as a whole today? Mine was a strong statement, but ponder it deeply. A simple yes or no will suffice. George |

GeorJoy -- I cannot comply with your request for a simple yes or no. Would you therefore settle for a compromise: not a "yes or no" but a "yes and no" to your question about whether I believe that Christ and His word are being taught in the church as a whole today. In some congregations I believe that the answer is a resounding yes; in others, no. In those congregations where Christ is not taught, where His word is neither taught nor believed, they are merely congregations of people, and that is all they are. --Hank

Bless your heart Hank, for I agree nearly completely. I believe though, that we two can agree to almost disagree. There are many Church's and individuals, I am sure you will agree, who profess Christ yet insist on deluting His word with their personal insertions and removals thereof. These are those of whom I speak. I would assume that geography has a lot to do with their numbers. Your Brother in Christ George |
