Hi, Ashkey... There are several answers to your question. 1. Incest was not forbiden prior to the Mosaic law. 2. Our definition of incest is based on a specific cultural norm. The ancients didn't define it quite the way we do, nor is it defined in this way in other cultures. 3. Given a more robust genetic pool, offspring from such relationships would be less likely to suffer from some of the problems with inbreeding that we are concerned with today. 4. In spite of how messed up we see our own world, there have been periods in human history where specific kinds of sin was rampant and even socially encouraged. The Bible, was written during specific historical venues when such was the case. Each period should be judged in the light of its own understanding of God's truth.
