2 | Genesis 4:17 | OT general | PJC | 79091
Cains wife was his sister. The Bible tells us that Adam and Eve were the first to be created. All other men and women were from them. Cain went out from his parents and did indeed marry a sister living away from them. (Remember, the fall of man had just begun and intermarriage among family was not forbidden.)Adam lived 930 years so he and Eve must have had a lot of children! Think about the multiplier on this. At minimum, 1 child every 2 years they would have had 465 children, possibly more. May God give you discernment as you search His Word. PJC |

3 | Genesis 4:17 | OT general | Hank | 79115
According to the Genesis account, all humankind descended from the first parents Adam and Eve, but it cannot be said that Cain's wife was necessarily his sister. There are other possibilities. A niece for instance. The point is that Scripture does not reveal her identity; therefore, we don't know who she was other than that she was a descendent of the first couple. Other than the fact that her husband was called Cain and that she bore a son called Enoch, we know nothing about this woman. --Hank
