How would you teach on Isaiah 55:1-9 what is this talking about? That we all come to the Lord as you are?
2 | Isaiah 55:1-9 | OT general | kalos | 29397
Scripture being its own best interpreter, the theme of Isa. 55:1-9 could be summed up in this one verse, Matthew 11:38: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." The verse in Matthew can be further condensed into these three words "Come unto me." |

Hi Kalos, You have an excellent post here and a good comparison of Scriptures, I believe. The only thing that I would change, and you know what I'm going to say:), is that it should say "Come unto Me" for He is our God. Isaiah 55:7 Narrowing down the comparison, I would suggest Isaiah 55:5-7 for comparison with your suggested Matthew 11:26-28. "For (He) will abundantly pardon." --- "and (I) will give you rest." Isaiah 55:9, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are *My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." Matthew 11:30, "For *My yoke is easy, and My load is light." I hope that this is an encouragement for your fine work here on the forum. Later, Ray |
