I think they meant John 21:11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net to land, full of large fish, 153 of them; and [though] there were so many of them, the net was not torn. The number was probably included for your reading pleasure. |

Of course I too was prepared to make the same assumption as you, that is, that the questioner meant John 21:11, but in an effort to promote more preciseness in forum questions and answers, I asked for clarification by the questioner. I would critique John's recording of the exact number of fishes, 153, as being less of an intent to add to the reader's pleasure than to underscore the verity of the narrative by his attestation to being an eye-witness of the events he recorded. In no event is there indication that the number 153 has any esoteric or symbolic significance. --Hank | ||||||
