youth dad Hi and welcome to the forum. Fund raising considered normal but I find it distasteful. When God told Israel to build the Tabernacle God didn't tell them to hold a fund raiser. He told them to come with the money themselves. The people thought it an honor to give. I think it gives God the glory when His people are able to accomplish something on their own by depending on God to provide. EdB |

Youth dad No I don't. Fellowship is and should be the product of relationship. When we try to foster artificial fellowship by programs and activities rather than letting relationships develop very little is accomplished. That said, the natural question would be, ‘how do we build relationships?’ I think they are built when people come together in work or play serving God. Things like nursing home visitation, general visitation, helping the widows (paint, lawn care, car repair), prison visitation, community cleanup projects, church cleanup projects and etc. EdB |
