On a map of today's world, where would I find the locations of 4 ancient Bible civilizations, Macedonia-Greek, Persian, Babylon Pagan Rome. I'm looking for specific countries on today's map where each of these would have been. thanks, Chusarcik

Chusarcik Most modern Bibles contain maps of the these empires and a map of the world today. You can compare them. Or if you have Wordsearch Bible Software or Logos (Libronix) Bible software they both have maps that shows each empire that then can be overlaid with the countries as they are today. EdB |

That doesn't help because I don't have any of these. I have a few maps in my Bible and I've tried to do that but they're so tiny I had a hard time looking at today's map and calculating exactly where each of these would be today. Anyway, I'm not sure I'm coming up with the right information and do not want to learn it incorrectly. Cany anyone answer my original question with the exact locations or tell me of a website that clearly shows this information? Thanks, Chusarcik

Thanks, I just tried that and it looks like Babylon was in Iraq, the Persian empire was in Iran, Greek Macedonia was in Jordan and I can't figure out what all the pagan Roman empire covered. Can someone confirm whether this is right and provide corrections if needed and the location of the Roman empire? I'm sorry to keep asking, but I don't want to get this wrong and the maps I keep searching are too close up or far away for me to be sure I'm matching everything up correctly. Website Link............................................... Hello Chusarck, To see the Roman Empire, go to the following website: (http://www.hyperhistory.com/online_n2/History_n2/a.html) ............................................... Then click on the round button on the left that says “Maps” ............................................... Then click on the rectangle button on the right that says “Rome Han China” ............................................... All the pink stuff is the Roman Empire. As you can see it includes the modern countries of Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, France, Jordan, Turkey, and Israel. It also contains parts of the modern countries of England, Switzerland, Austria, Libya, Egypt, and several of the small Balkan countries. ............................................... As for your other information, I think it is correct that Babylon capital was in modern Iraq (although the empire included many other modern countries). And Persia’s capital was I think in modern Iran (although the empire also included many other modern countries). As for Greece, it’s capital was in the modern country of Greece, but it’s empire streched from parts of Spain and Libya in the West to parts of Asia in the East. |
