1 | what is to be taken literally in Genesis | Bible general Archive 1 | Johann | 66904 | ||
I have a couple of questions to start off with. Firtsly, I'm in the Dutch Reformed church of South Africa. I would firstly like to know whether the old testament as a whole or parts of it should be seen as only a "story" and of what importance is it relating to our faith in God. Mostly what concerns me is the fact that I take what is written in the bible, especially the old testament very literally as it deals with history of mankind in a sense and of course the history of Israel. I specifically refer to Genesis 1-11 wrt creation, generations and fall of man during Noah's time. |

Johann, greetings and welcome to the forum. Take the Bible as literal, unless there is a figure of speech used. Genesis 1-11 is literal. Searcher |
