I feel so upset to go to my church I have had a Burden with my 40 yrs old son. His wife divc him and he started in drugs and drinking and was in the paper of him being with a DUI and now in Jail for awhile praying for help and that he can get out in 30day. the The Pastor of the Church has never called to say I am sorry could I go and Pray with your son or come by and talk with us Pray with us and nothing a couple Ladies of the Church did call and ask if they could do anything let them know. How would you feel. I don't think they even care and I play the Piano at Church and work faithful for God. But I don't understand. I am thinking about stop going and Pray for God to lead us . I thought that is what a Family of God is to be -Help thur all this and we have been out dollars to help him in Jail-eating so on. they must not like me and my husband. I can't help what my son does.Oh, I need some help. I had to call a Pastor down the road to come and talk with us and Pray. what would you do? |

Mae64, I hurt for you that you feel alone and unsupported during this very difficult time in your familiy's life. You are correct that the Family of God should be there for you. The Bilbe commands us to "weep with those who weep". I would guess though, that there are friends in your church who do care about you and just don't know how to express it in a way that will not cause more hurt. Often people are trying to put themselves in your shoes, and knowing that they would feel sad and embarrassed by the situation, they think that it would only make you feel worse to talk about it. This is the wrong response, but perhaps this will give you some insight into the thoughts behind their actions. As for advice, I would suggest approaching your pastor about leading a jail visitation ministry from your church. This would provide a way for yourself and others in your church to visit not only your son, but also others who are there. Pointing out verses where Jesus talks about visiting those in prison, should be sufficient to get your pastor’s approval and support. There is also an organization called “Prison Fellowship Ministries”, which has a lot of resources and contacts that would be overjoyed to help you set something up. The website for them is: http://www.pfm.org Even though this is an extremely hard time for you and your family, it is also an opportunity for God to do amazing things in your family, your church, and your whole community. |

Personal Note................. Dear Mae64,.................... I had a hard time understanding some of what you wrote in your response. From what I could tell, You said that your pastor didn’t visit and pray with your family when your mother died or when your son went to jail. This is sad, but I think that you are taking the right perspective by focusing on the truth that God is with you and that He cares for you more than anyone else even could. ...................... It also sounded like you and another lady visit the sick and elderly in your community. This is terriffic. Praise God that you do this! Perhaps you could also add the jail to your list of places to stop and visit with people. There is an elder lady in our church that visits the jail in our county, and she often shares during testimony time how blessed she has been by seeing God use her there to really bring some light into the people’s lives there. They have been very welcoming to her. ...................... I hope that I have understood your message correctly, and I will pray that you will continue to sense God’s love and guidance in a powerful way! |

sIR Pen: that is how the story is true..God knows it and I know it. but I forgive him and that is all I am gong to say about this to anyone unless they ask has the Pastor been by or call. I will say No. I don't want to be talking about him. He may is doing what he feels he needs to do. Yes, we will continur doing what we have started. Jail.some-of them is hard to get into. but the Men of the churchs should go that would be a Great Ministry..what does the Bible speak of going there. Oh, it's time for the nice pews an all the good looking things. I am sure things in there are not so pleaseing to the I...my son has 17 days so really Prayer that he will be helped and that they can get him help to get over the Anger from the divc. I love my son..but I can't get myself down and stop doing my calling for God. Right. Thanks. Mae64 | ||||||

Personal Note ...................................... Dear Mae64, I also praise God with you for this happy reunion. This is the beginning of an answer to yours, mine, and probably many other people's prayers. Your son is blessed to have a mother who cares so much for him, and I hope that he comes to realize that God cares for him even more. I hope that he does decide to turn his life around. After all, the easiest place to turn around is at a dead end in the road, because there's no traffic comming the other way. |
