Scripture ... Lev 4, Num 15:27-31, 1 Tim 1:13-16 ... Estelle, are we bad by nature? Do we have to teach a child to do wrong? One 18 months old usually knows right and wrong. They even look at you before they do wrong ... it is deliberate. They do not understand that that Jesus died for their sins, then. Paul was granted mercy (1 Tim 1:13) ... "Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life" (vs 16). Read the verses between and around. Being ignorant, is like the unintentional sin (Lev 4, Num 15:27-29). It was treated differently than willful sin (Num 15:30-31). One can claim to be ignorant ... once. Searcher |

Searcher, I believe you and I are on the same wavelength and hence, am not sure if you are refuting my post. Ignorance can only be claimed once for the second time would not exist without the first. Also, I hope I did not imply that Christ does NOT extend mercy to the knowing sinner, too, for He most certainly does. It is God's choice to discipline us when we've sinned. In Christ, Estelle |
